Re: assigning separated load patterns to every loop

I am not sure what is your question. Can you describe it in more detail?

Re: error in ststic analysis

Most probably you have an error in your model as you could not go even through 1 step of analysis. Do eigen analysis to verify your model.

Re: brace geomTransf in 2D model

corotational is more appropriate for brace modeling in case you want to capture buckling of the brace.

if in 2D you do not need to specify the vector.

Re: Gap Material

To me it looks like you need to develop a new element in OpenSees that will define the interface between the column and the footing. Force-based element uses Euler-Bernoulli rule and may not be applicable to your problem.

Re: damage in Hysteretic material

It depentds on what you are trying to achieve with your material model.

Here you can find few examples of how damage2 parameter changes the response:http://opensees.berkeley.edu/OpenSees/m ... l/4052.htm

Re: Different Yielding Strength Values

fy is a material property. you should check the list of materials that are included in the sensitivity analysis to see if the material you plan to use (whose fy you want to alter) is included.

Re: Gap Material

why don't you use zero-length element to model the gap.

Re: Modeling Problem

There is nothing special about output of zeroLength elements.

If you are getting blank file it is either recorder definition that is wrong or it is the model that is wrong so the analysis can not be performed.

Re: Failed to Converge

You can use beam column element but there are some tweaks you'll have to do. Check out presentation by Prof. Lowes from OpenSees Days 2012: http://opensees.berkeley.edu/wiki/index ... esDays2012

Re: Calibration of Maxwell Material's Issue

If you look at the manual you will see that to define force-based element you can use "forceBeamColumn" or "nonlinearBeamColumn".

Re: How to model viscous damping

To model the viscous damper you can use zeroLength element and assign Maxwell material to it: http://opensees.berkeley.edu/wiki/index ... l_Material
