I am interested in applying the confinement of concrete according to CEB Model Code 1990 §3,5,2,1. According to the corresponding figure (Fig 3,5,4), concrete in tension contributes to the confining pressure in addition to confinement provided by the hoops. Consequently, the confining pressure is different for each position of the neutral axis and the confined concrete σ-ε relation must be updated in each step.
Is is possible to update during analysis a material previously defined? (for example Concrete01 with matTag 2 for confined core and updating $fpc $epsc0 $fpcu $epsU for this material in each step).
If no modification can be done, can you suggest alternative methods to overcome this problem?
I am interested in executing moment-curvature analyses and, then, applying this principle to frame members.
