operating system

Post by pbzvmz » Fri Dec 24, 2010 7:11 am

Hello,
I want to know on which operating systems does OpenSEES work (other than windows XP, for example on linux)? What special considerations will it then need for installation?
thanks

It works on the Mac, for which a .exe is available, and on machines runnning versions of the unix operating system.

Due to the great variation in the number of unix opearting systems and machine setups, on unix the user is first required
to build the .exe from the source code. This requires the user creates a Makefile.def, some are available in the download
and a few are available in the develoeper forum.

Hi I have a question regarding the Mac portion of this thread.

I have a Mac (Newest OS), but can't seem to download OpenSees from opensees.berkeley.edu . When I try to register, I always get

"Forbidden
You don't have permission to access /cgi-bin/OpenSeesDownloadRegister.pl on this server."

I can't seem to find a way to download OpenSees anywhere else. Can somebody help? Thanks!

Does OpenSees also works for Win 7 Ultimate?
