I am analyzing a one story concrete column fibersection with time history earthquake motions.
The mass at the top of column is 90 kips, but when I analyze the time history the nodal vertical reaction jumps all over the place, up to 146 kips, even though the analysis converged successfully.
How do I constrain the analysis to hold the 90 k vertical reaction throughout the motion?
Time History w Concrete Column won't converge to correct Axial reaction

Hi,
The forces that you recorded are logical. In the time history analysis, فhe forces resulting from the mass multiplication acceleration. Therefore, you cannot fix vertical reaction throughout the motion.
