pipeline on seabed

Post by miladm2 » Thu Jun 07, 2012 5:44 am

hi
at first i had to apologize for my bad English.
i have some questions, and i will be very thankful if any body can help me.
i wanna modeling a pipeline on soft seabed, at first i suppose to consider soil's uplift resistance and Cohesion of the soil as elastic. but i couldn't find any spring to model these so,i used ENT (Elastic No Tension) material for uplift resistance and Elastic material for Cohesion ( and connect these with zerolenght element ) but the script fail to converge so i reduce the increment size to 10e-7 cm after 3 days running the model, the answers are soooooo wrong :( :( :( :( i don't know what should i do for this... :(

Dear Miladm2,

I am trying to develop an OpenSees Model in order to assess the seismic performance of The Steel Buried Pipeline as you would like to do. After I read your message, I think that we deal with same problem. Is it possible for you to share your input with me? I will appreciate If you can share it. Maybe we can overcome this problem by comparing our inputs with each other.
