Define material for zerolength element: Confirmation thereof

Post by rajib.iitbbsr » Fri Jul 01, 2011 10:55 pm

Hello opensees community,
I have two queries related to opensees modeling.

(1) Whether material for soil element(zerolength element) is represented by uniaxialMaterial Elastic and uniaxialMaterial UniaxialJ2Plasticity to represnt the linear and non-linear behavior respectively?

(2) Is it possible to use uniaxial p-y material, t-z material and q-z material attributed by zerolength spring element in reliabilty domain? Becoz I am faceing problem to detect these materials under reliabilty domain?

Appreciating your valuable suggestion in this regard.
Thanking you.
