soil-pile interface modeling

Sir,
I am working on soil structure interaction problem.In the soil pile interface I used elastic material and youngs modulus equal to the soil.I carried out linear time history analysis.I got response of the structure but there is drastic change in response at one time step and that response keeps on increasing upto end of the ground motion.I think this is due to interface element.what will be the suitable element for interface and what are the properties of that element.Youngs modulus will it be same as concrete or same as soil or any other.Please reply me in this regard.
