opensees on multicore processors

Post by hadisayadpour » Thu May 17, 2012 4:11 am

Hi every body,
I know about openseesSP and openseesMP but I want to know is there any possibility to run opensees ( NOT openseesSP and openseesMP) on a multiprocessor CPU like Intel core i7?
is MPICH2 able to do this for me?
and if we do this, can we expect to have an increase in analysis speed?
regards
Hadi

no .. you want openseesSP and mpich2 .. the regular opensees will not use threads, i could compile a version that would use the threaded superlu solver but i have nt done so.

dear frank
thanks a lot for the reply.
how can I get OpenSees SP?
I can not download OpenSees SP from opensees website.
Is there any other link for that?
