Building OpenSeesSP in Ubuntu

Dear Frank,

This is not the first time I post my current problem. I guess you were too busy to answer me. Anyway, the libraries are built successfully (Ubuntu 10.10 & 11.04 - 64bit). The binary, however, does not. The Makefile.def is pasted as a reply. But first, the error message:

Deleting some of the distributed solver libraries inside /OpenSees/SRC/system_of_eqn/linearSOE/ does not solve the problem as the g++ compiler reports them missing!

I also tried excluding /home/hisham/lib/libOpenSees.a (out of desperation). It did not work either (of course).

you can't delete the .o files .. read the output .. there are too many occurances of the .o in the linking! .. one of the occurances of the listing has to be removed .. try removing from PARALLEL_LIB in the Makefile.def

u need to obviously remove the reference to the mkl library from the Makefile.def if you don't have it.

Thanks a lot for your help Frank ... I have no prior experience with building software :( and therefore .... Now back to the problem.

I had the Intel mkl installed as this error was issued (maybe a linking problem)

I removed the reference to (-lmkl_lapack, -lmkl_ipf & -lguide) Then I got a similar error for (-lmpich) in:

MPILIB = -L/usr/include/openmpi -lmpich

I then edited that line to:
MPILIB = -L/usr/include/openmpi


I got this error now:

you have a bunch of problems.

the last error messages in the list are beacuasuse you are not including all the mpi libraries you need to.
the next bunch up are due to missing blas routines, try including the CBLAS library in the list NUMERICAL_LIB
not sure about the graphic problems, try make wipe in SRC and make again
