can Opensees consider warping in thin-walled sections?

If you have a script you think might be useful to others post it
here. Hopefully we will be able to get the most useful of these incorporated in the manuals.

can Opensees consider warping in thin-walled sections?

Post by xzha8132 » Sun Aug 01, 2010 8:38 pm

Hi all/frank,

I am a beginner of Opensees user, I just wonder if Opensees can consider the effect of warping in thin-walled steel sections. I have briefly read through the command language manual and some related theory but it seemed that warping is ignored in Opensees. Can someone tell me if it is true?
Another question is if it does ignore warping, is it difficult to add it in open source code?

no. depends on your expertise, if you know the theory and subject well then no, if you don't then yes.
