Help!! How to build the model of FRP?

Post by andy0071 » Wed Oct 12, 2011 8:28 am

I wander to build the material model of FRP, but the material of FRP is not as same as steel which could keep the stress after the elastic transformation into plasticity. the FRP material will break and quit after it reach the ultimate load, so the curve will come down after the elastic transformation but not go horizontal.
That means could not use the "uniaxialMaterial ElasticPP" to model the FRP written as"uniaxialMaterial ElasticPP $IDfrp $Ef $ef 0"
BUt how to simulate the FRP's break after it reaches the ultimate load in OpenSees with basic material and Parallel material ??

dear andy0071,
I have the same problem. If you have the example script for FRP modeling could you please mail it to me.
I want to investigate the FRP thickness and number of layers and I can't find it in "confinedconcrete01" :(
Thank you in advance,
