Element Orientation in Local Axes for 2D Problems

Post by ozancemcelik » Mon May 16, 2005 12:59 pm

I could not see the necessary information to define the element orientation for 2D problems in the manual. The only information available is
in 2D - bending is about the local z-axis
as a footnote. But, the direction of z-axis also matters especially if you have different top and bottom beam reinforcements.

I think, somewhere in the manual, it should say "local z-axis and global z-axis coincide."

And it might be helpful if "counter-clockwise" expression in explaining the Quadrilateral Patch command can be replaced with "counter-clockwise about x-axis."
