Pinching4 Material Calibration

Post by ksalman » Tue Feb 28, 2023 10:56 am

Hello Everyone,

I am modeling a Light Timber Frame shear wall based on experimental testing. The behavior of wall connections is what I am focusing on to calibrate and I am trying to use pinching4 material. Is there any source to start the calibration process (calculating the parameters from the experimental test and testing the material)?

Thank you

I somehow got the idea of how to do it but need some more clarification.
If you want to start, the pinching4 example is available to try to play with that example and you might get some idea.
Here is the example.
Good luck

You can also check the references here: https://opensees.berkeley.edu/wiki/inde ... 4_Material

The quoFEM application of the SimCenter also allows calibration of OpenSees material models. https://simcenter.designsafe-ci.org/res ... plication/

Thank you for your input. May I know how we can calculate the parameters from the experimental data if using a tcl code for the calibration process?
Also, some hysteresis use parallel materials like ENT+Pinching and QuoFEM considering 1 material at a time.
I am unable to attach a snap from the hysteresis.

QuoFEM allows using an OpenSees file: https://nheri-simcenter.github.io/quoFE ... ities.html
