Joint2D

Post by abira » Sun Apr 04, 2021 2:55 am

Dear All,
I had a question about Joint2D in OpenSEES.
Is the joint2D valid for modelling panel zone in steel frames also or is it meant to be used for modelling panel zone in RC frames only?

Thanks

You can use it for RC as it was developed as a result of a study that focused on RC structures:

Arash Altoontash, 2004, "Simulation and damage models for performance assessment of reinforced concrete beam-column joints", PhD Dissertation, Stanford University, California, USA.
