MDOF lumped mass model

Post by harvie » Fri Feb 26, 2021 6:45 am

Hello everyone!

Any idea on how I model a lumped mass MDOF system with columns represented as shear and flexure springs?

Also, is it required to do first eigenvalue analysis and gravity analysis to capture the response to a time-history analysis?

Eigenvalue analysis is not required to do response history analysis.

Thank you for replying, Sir!

How about gravity analysis, is it mandatory before perfoming THA?

Thank you very much, Sir!

Though I have not yet figured out how I can correctly model a structure using a spring-mass system.
I actually posted another topic here: viewtopic.php?f=2&t=68378
Maybe you can give me insights about it, Thank you in advance!
