Discrepancy of results between SAP2000 and OpenSees

Post by katterineac » Tue Nov 24, 2020 11:16 am

I am modeling a composite behavior of a slab and a girder. The shear diagram of the beam, according to OpenSees is 50% of the shear diagram obtained in SAP2000. But the bending moment diagram is the same for OpenSees and SAP2000 results. Why is this happening?

Do you have the same distributed load in both cases?

Yes, because all internal forces are the same, except the shear diagram (reactions, axial, etc forces are the same)

Actually, there is no shear diagram functionality in OpenSees. If all of your member end forces and the distributed loads are the same, it means you get the same results from the two software.
