Deck modelling with shell element

Post by Swanrhcp » Mon Oct 19, 2020 6:49 am

Hi all, I would like to model a mixed steel concrete beam, using a forcebeam column element for the steel beam and a shell element for the concrete slab. After that I would like to connect the two elements with rigid links and zero length elements to simulate the presence of a connection. What material on opensees should I use to model the slab? Also is it possible to use a layered shell element for a concrete deck? Thank you

I have the same problem, have you modeled the deck successfully?
