problem with gravitational stress within the element

Post by dengjiangxu » Sun May 31, 2020 9:59 pm

Dear all,
I am building a three dimensional model of gravel pile and liquefiable soil system, applying PDMY02 constitute model and brickUP element for both the soil and pile. To verify the feasiblity of the model, I merely run the gravity analysis and record the stress with command:

recorder Element -file Gstress1.out -time -ele 1 5 13 21 29 37 45 53 material 1 stress
recorder Element -file Gstress2.out -time -ele 1 5 13 21 29 37 45 53 material 2 stress
recorder Element -file Gstress3.out -time -ele 1 5 13 21 29 37 45 53 material 3 stress
recorder Element -file Gstress4.out -time -ele 1 5 13 21 29 37 45 53 material 4 stress
recorder Element -file Gstress5.out -time -ele 1 5 13 21 29 37 45 53 material 5 stress
recorder Element -file Gstress6.out -time -ele 1 5 13 21 29 37 45 53 material 6 stress
recorder Element -file Gstress7.out -time -ele 1 5 13 21 29 37 45 53 material 7 stress
recorder Element -file Gstress8.out -time -ele 1 5 13 21 29 37 45 53 material 8 stress

However, it is found that the stresses of different integration points within the same element, which share the same elevation, are far different from each other.

Thank you very much for any suggestion.
