Linux/supercomputer errors

Post by polly » Mon Dec 03, 2018 2:54 pm

I'm wondering if anyone has seen a similar error with their modeling efforts:

I'm running OpenSeesSP on a 3D structural model subjected to ground motions in both directions.

When I run my model on a local (windows) machine, it runs without error. On the (linux) super computer, my model fails during eigen analysis (negative eigen values).

I've seen the same error occur when an instability existed in the model. In this instance, I'm perplexed by the variation between the linux and windows machine. Other iterations of the model work on both the local and remote machines.

Would love any insight on this...

I have the same problem. I have a code for pushover analysis of transmission towers. In windows machine my code perfectly works but in Linux it does not converge at all. Have you been able to solve this issue yet?

Sadly no, and a few others here are having the same issue. Will update if it gets resolved.
