Flat sliding bearing element in 2d 2dof model
Hi Frank,
Can you please let me know how I can use flat sliding bearing element in my 2d 2dof building model?
Thank you in advance,
Kind regards,
Cgty

Did you check the example tcl files at the end of this website?

Yes, they are all 2d 3dof examples.

Re: Flat sliding bearing element in 2d 2dof model
You can use a 2d 3dof model and fix the degree of freedom that you are not considering.

Selim Hocam,
Thank you for your reply. The issue is my main structure is a 2d 2dof idealized and incorporating a 2d 3dof bearing element is only possible when I consider using equal degree of freedom multi point constraints between the main structure and bearing element. I guess this is the only way to model this flat sliding bearing element into a 2d 2dof model. I would be happy if you have any other suggestions.
Thank you,
Cagatay
