shear limit curve

Post by toy0410 » Thu Nov 29, 2012 8:00 pm

Dear all,
l'm working on the shear failure about circular section column.
About the shear limit curve in the manual, i have something confused.
In the input of the curve, i should input the section b,h, but it's for rectangle section.
What should i do to define the b,h for circular section?
Thanks.

In the manual they have given the formulas for rectangular section. If you ignore formulas but follow definition of what needs to be input you can come up with formulas for the circular section. However, I suggest you to read the references or to contact the author to make sure that the limit curves will hold for circular section as well.
