Post by suciputrielza » Thu Jun 14, 2012 10:24 pm

What a unit that is used in opensees navigator ...
whether the assumptions themselves or any of its provisions?? ..
whether to use international units ...
example
for the length if we have to use inches feet or meters?
thank you: D

OpenSees is unit-less. Chose a set of basic units (e.g., m, kN, sec) and use it consistently throughout your code.

But the basic unit in opensees are inch, sec, kip. Then how can we choose a different set of the units until we change the current unit into them

OpenSees does not have basic unit system. You just select any set of units and make sure to define all variables in the specified set of units.
