Thank you, frank.
Can you please share the amd lib file for windows developer, btw?

I found that the AMD number algorithm is not constructed, yet.
When it is loaded, the ops returns

AMD::AMD()

THank you for your time.

Sincerely,

N. Li

Speed Improvements

Post by dborello »

I am noticing significant speed improvement between versions 2.1.0 and 2.2.0.

For a model with 1660 nodes and 2225 elements:

OpenSees 2.1.0: 91 sec
OpenSees 2.2.0: 39 sec

Obviously this is only one data point, but that is an incredible improvement.

I thought that the speed-up was suspicious, but I have verified the output is identical (within reason).

I am curious to what parts were optimized. I suspect that my model is an extreme example.

Thanks,
Dan

or any help docements and especially source codes about the latest version ?

you can remove elements, loads, sp constraints and load patterns.

remove element eleTag
remove node nodeTag
remove sp nodeTag? dof?
remove recorders
remove recorder tag?

no one has yet asked that mp-constraints be removed, why don't you add it to requests.

@dborello: What type of analysis are you performing? Could you describe what were your analysis options including the system of equations setup etc.?

Thanks

Arbarbosa,

My model is utilizing the Steel02 material model (for the most part) and has the 540 truss and zero-length elements and 100 nonlinear beam columns.

My analysis parameters are:

constraints Plain
numberer RCM
system ProfileSPD
test EnergyIncr 1.0e-8 30 1
algorithm NewtonLineSearch 0.5
analysis Static
integrator DisplacementControl 769 1 6.250000e-002
analyze 472

I hope this helps,
Dan

Is it possible to remove a patch ( for ex. circular ring )of section fiber using the remove command at the end of a analysis and then continue with another analisys?

dear fmk
it seems that I found a bug about noderange command.
I want to record 4,879 nodes' displacements ,But I only got 4,509.\
while I use nodeall command in 2.1.0 , It's OK.

Version 2 2 0 released

Post by Utillcest »

I am switching to using version 4 and I am trying to access my version 3 templates through version 4. If I just copy them to the templates folder in version 4 then they do not load properly. How can I import the version 3 templates I created in the my templates/version 3 area?

Thanks, Kirsten
