Construct nonclassical mdof lumped model

Post by berkan » Tue Mar 14, 2023 1:17 pm

Hello,
In openseespy, i am trying to get mass, stiffness and damping matrices for mdof lumped model which have isolator in midstory. GimmeMCK does not give me right damping matrix but it gives right mass and stiffness matrices. How can i get right damping matrix?
Openseespy code given below

Make a small model, a minimal working example, with like two elements. What you posted, with no context or explanation of the model, will take too long to figure out.

In the image you posted on the FB group, what are xi_iso and xi_others? Are they somehow stiffness proportional damping ratios for each story? Is it something else? The information is unclear.

Also, that elemental damping thing posted as a response will not be useful.
