Using consecutive load patterns and reliability calculations

A place to ask questions on how to use OpenSees to perform Finite Element Reliability Analysis

Using consecutive load patterns and reliability calculations

Post by ddroogne » Wed Mar 07, 2018 3:15 am

Does anybody know if it is possible to use consecutive load patterns in combination with a reliability calculation?
I have a model where I first apply the gravity load and next I perform a displacement controlled test so I need two consecutive load patterns.
Next I also want to update the material parameters to do reliability calculations (Monte Carlo or FORM). However if I try to include two load patterns in my for-loop for a Monte Carlo calculation, the first simulation is correct, but the second calculation gives very illogical values. I used the reset command after each simulation so that the model returns to its initial values but this didn't help.

Many thanks in advance
Didier
