Non Converging Model SSI

Post by konsmous » Tue Oct 17, 2017 7:14 am

I'm modeling the response of a single DOF structure in earthquake excitation. My soil model is made from 1X1 quad elements ( PressureIndependentMultiYield-Medium Clay) and I have 3 intervals. 1st for elastic gravity analysis, 2nd gravity with activated plastic response and 3rd with the motion using a zero length dashpot at the bottom corner of the model. The analysis can't event complete 1st interval and is giving me "CTestNormDispIncr::test()-Failed to converge". I tried full Newton Raphson And the Line search algorithm with 100 step and 10000 duration for the analysis and still can't converge.

The soil model has equalDOF quad element at the lateral boundaries. Any ideas on how to solve the issue?
