Re: Elastic-no tension material
fbeckwit, thank you for your kind reply. The axial load is that large because I used SI(N,mm) unit. Actually I am just about to post that I've solved the problem by changing the unit from SI to English unit. I don't know why, maybe because the value of load in SI unit is too large causing some value...

Re: Elastic-no tension material
Thank you fmk for your suggestion. However, Newton with initial stiffness also fails. Actually, all the reinforcing steel models fail. When ReinforcingSteel was used following errors appear: bad trial strain UniaxialMaterial::setTrial() - material failed in setTrialStrain() I checked the SR code of ...

something like this??

Elastic-no tension material
Dear all, I want to model an FRP tube-confined concrete column under cyclic lateral loading. The FRP tubes bear axial load to some extent, but can not stand tension force. I'm using fiber-section beam-column element; ENT material is assigned for the FRP tube. However, it is very hard to converge. Wh...

Re: Problem with Fiber stressStrain Recorder in Cyclic M-phi
We still don't know why stress-strain responses can not be extracted in zerolength section element, since the administrators are not replying. If we can, it will facilitate us a lot. Sometimes for dispBeamColumn element, the same problem occurs! While for forceBeamColumn, it works fine! I don't know...

Re: Problem with Fiber stressStrain Recorder in Cyclic M-phi
Oh, I see.
Could you please share it with us?
For calibrating material, I'm using just truss element similar to those in the Maxwell_Material in the document.

Re: Difficult to trace descending response
Thanks, Lost! I've tried as you suggested, unfortunately, it still doesn't work. The script is here: ------------------------------------------- set dataDir data; # set up name of data directory (can remove this) file mkdir $dataDir; # create data directory model basic -ndm 2 -ndf 3 ### Geometry and...
