why? moment keeps increasing, and shear turns to degrade?

I conducted pushover analysis with nonlinear beamcolumn element, consider spread plasticity and displacement control. the curve of base shear vs displacement turns out negative increment after it reachs the peak value, while the moment keeps increased after yielding. Is that correct? the moment shoul...

Thanks a lot!!! Fmk.

I will revise the model and check the model again according to your tips!

I had thought to share all of the code. Well, it seems too big to be coded when I post them.

Best regards,

what wrong with my model? who can help me to correct it.

it's a bridge model with hunderds elatic elements and 2 nonlinear elements.the connection between pier and beam is of big stiffness. and most of the elements are of different stiffness along the pier or beam. 2 fiber section are used for the nonlinear elements. I tried to transfer the model data fro...

Thanks for your help.
is there displacement-based element in OPENSEES? I think I almost know nothing about it. I''ll give it a comparison...maybe I should add a new type of element with varous stiffness along.

so I have to deal with the variable stiffness along the element via average stiffness of the element?

Maybe the only way is to choose a equavilent section in a way.

Thanks for your help!
