Dear Zackchen,
I have downloaded the latest version. However, I failed to read the ReadMe file, possibly due to Chinese characters. Can we have a completely English version of the file?
Thanks a lot.

Re: How to use PVDRecorder (Version 2.5.0. Release Tag 6236
Dear Zhum, Sorry for my delayed response. 1. I was trying to use the pvdRecorder command as suggested by you (earlier post). 2. I have a single quad element excited by a sinusoidal base acceleration. 3. Used the following command to get pvd file for displacement, velocity acceleration and element st...

Re: Shell element
Hi, it is reg your last question, about CCW node numbering. Assume that you have a 4 noded element whose nodes are 1 (LowerLeft), 2 (LowerRight), 3 (UpperRight) and 4(UpperLeft). Then you may write element $eleType $eleTag 1 2 3 4 Alternatively you can also write element $eleType $eleTag 2 3 4 1 But...

Re: How to use PVDRecorder (Version 2.5.0. Release Tag 6236
Dear Zhum, Thanks a lot for your reply. Now the pvdRecorder command is clear to me from your reply and I will try them now. Infact, since I was unable to get any eleResponse recorded in pvdRecorder so I tried it along with element tag later. Also would you please shed some light on my question 5 and...

Re: How to use PVDRecorder (Version 2.5.0. Release Tag 6236
Dear fmk, 1. I think your question was related to eleResponse command and not regarding Element recorder command. 2. I have tested it as follows (a single quad element in 2D domain): -------------------------------------------------------------- set fileId [open OnlyStresses.out w] set d [eleRespons...

Re: How to use PVDRecorder (Version 2.5.0. Release Tag 6236
Dear All, 1. After waiting long for the required commands I tried the PFEM commands as described in the web page (my last post). 1a. The command syntax shown is as follows: recorder pvd $filename <disp> <vel> <accel> <reaction> <mass> <eigen> <-precision $precision> <eleResponse > Note: A directory ...

Re: eleResponse
Hi. 1.Thanks Jhno for enlightening me on eleResponse command. 2.Regarding 'valid' queries 'stress' and 'stresses', may we request the developers and fmk to throw some light? 3.I think this is an important question many of us have thought of raising in the past and has been raised by Jhno now. Regards.

Re: [SOLVED] Compilimg Error (the latest svn repository)
Dear fmk and all, 1. I have got the new OpenSees (2.5.0) compiled in Ubuntu 14.04 LTS, 64 bit :D 2. This was possible only after complete removal of earlier version and complete new download. Possibly there was some conflict with different svn downloads at different times. 3. Also I had to do corres...

Re: eleResponse
Hi, 1. I don't think there is any command called eleResponse. Rather, the requested response(s) of the selected element(s) can be obtained in the recorder file(s). 2. The kind of valid response request (in the recorder command) depends on the kind of element one uses. 3. These can be found in the co...
