not quite sure what you mean. if you mean DisplacementControl with a different nodal increment at each step, just do something like: foreach nodalIncr { 3 -8 2 4} { integrator displacementControl node? dof? $nodalIncr analyze 1 } don't make the steps too big, you might want to do a number of steps; ...

you need to add -D_TCL84 to the c++ flagsin the Makefile.def .. the tcl people changed their api on us between versions 8.3 and 8.4

the nonlinearBeamColumn does provide mass .. it just was not getting added correctly by the default eigenSolver .. a bug .. the source code has been fixed in the cvs repository .. the fix will appear in the next minor release 1.6.1

as for puuting the ele mass at the nodes that will of course work.

there should be no built in limits in OpenSees as all memory usage is dynamically allocated
.. the only limits on size are the number of addresses that can be pointed to in memory and the amount of memory the process can request .. this limit is operating system dependent.

you have the nodeRecorder command incorrect .. suggest you look at the manual, if you can't figure it out post the command you are using. for multi-support excitations we suggest you always provide the actual displacement record instead of the acceleration record when defining a ground motion .. oth...

there should be no difference .. mass is mass .. most elements do not provide the option of the user specifying a mass density and thus will not provide any mass to the model .. hence nodal mass must be specified .. what element are you using?

multi-support excitation is implemented using sp constraints to specify the nodal displacements at each time step .. if you provide the acceleration record, numerical integration using the trapezoidal rule at present is performed to obtain the displacement record .. for those who don't know this, TH...
