is it really necessary to use matlab for you? I did it directly in the .tcl file, with a for loop. It was something like: for { set k 1 } { $k <= 10 } { incr k } { recorder Node -file [format "Post/Model%i/Pier_force.out" $k] -time -dT 0.005 -node 2 -dof 1 reaction; # do stuff with the model looping...

I am not sure if it is gonna solve it, but I would define the load path also for the other column (left).

something like:
pattern Plain 1 Linear {
load 12 10.0 0. 0.
load 22 10.0 0. 0.
}

The eigen analysis is kind of tricky one, have u stared with a static displ control or smth to see if the constrains work fine?

is there an easy-way to prescribe a displacement history at specific nodes of a structure, referring to a .tcl file containing the protocol?

I'd like use a sinusoidal loading protocol used during the lab test.
