Re: Running different Opensees models automatically using Ma
is it really necessary to use matlab for you? I did it directly in the .tcl file, with a for loop. It was something like: for { set k 1 } { $k <= 10 } { incr k } { recorder Node -file [format "Post/Model%i/Pier_force.out" $k] -time -dT 0.005 -node 2 -dof 1 reaction; # do stuff with the model looping...

Re: Problem cyclic Analysis for Concentrated Plasticity Mode
I am not sure if it is gonna solve it, but I would define the load path also for the other column (left).
something like:
pattern Plain 1 Linear {
load 12 10.0 0. 0.
load 22 10.0 0. 0.
}
Cheers,
something like:
pattern Plain 1 Linear {
load 12 10.0 0. 0.
load 22 10.0 0. 0.
}

no opensees wiki description of modal damping
Dear all, I cannot find a description of modal damping in OpenSees. While there an opensees wiki page for rayleigh, i dont see such a thing for dampingModal. I know it is probably mentioned properly in McKenna and Chopra "Modeling viscous damping in nonlinear response history analysis of buildings f...

Re: lumped mass -spring
what do u mean by "doesnt work" , which kind of error do u get?
The eigen analysis is kind of tricky one, have u stared with a static displ control or smth to see if the constrains work fine?

incrDisp recorder
Hi all, In using the incrDisp recorder, to be used later for the structure's energy calculation, by multiplying it with force history. However, I just get a series of zeros for any node of my structure i pick. can't find a way out. I am wondering if it is interacting with any other command, for some...

Re: lumped mass -spring
to keep it simple at the beginning, you could try with 3 zero length elements placed in series. Each zero length element would be a non-linear spring in which the behavior is described in the 3 directions (2 displ and 1 rot). It is a very rough schema of the structure, usually presented in dynamics ...

Sinusoidal displacement loading protocol
Hi all,
is there an easy-way to prescribe a displacement history at specific nodes of a structure, referring to a .tcl file containing the protocol?
I'd like use a sinusoidal loading protocol used during the lab test.
