critical load
Hello,
Do you know how we can determine the critical load for a simple frame? (2 columns & 1 beam with vertical loads on columns).
Thank you.

geometric non-linearity settings
Hi,
i am modeling a 3D truss. would you please tell me how i can apply the geometric non-linearity settings in opensees.
(i know in ANSYS program this command is: NLGEOM,ON but how define it in opensees?)

in the hysteretic material command we can assign only 3 points for the negative direction and 3 points for the positive direction.if we want define more points, how can we do it? i used the example which imancivil mentioned above, the opensees gives error. would you please help me? uniaxialMaterial H...

Arc Length settings
Dear friends, i have a problem to set the parameters $arclength $alpha. There is my script at the openSsees community with "Euler load" topic: http://opensees.berkeley.edu/community/viewtopic.php?p=16670#16670 one of the members who is "imancivil" repaired my script and explained about arc-length me...

arc-length settings
Dear imancivil
thank you very much. as you mentioned if i use LoadControl integrator, after a few steps analysis fail.
Dear all,
how should i set the $arclength $alpha?
thnx

Daer silvia, in ANSYS to capture the force-deflection curve for a single element it is possible to apply an axial load on a constrained dof. (use BEAM188 element). with doing the nonlinear static analysis the force-deflection curve obtained. but how can i do it in opensees? I look forward to hearing...

Euler load
i want to get the Euler load (buckling load). the end supports are hinge. the model has imperfection at the center of element, but the deflection is constant. would u please tell me what the problem is? how can i get Euler load #Units: kg,cm wipe model BasicBuilder -ndm 3 -ndf 6 # nodal coordinates:...
