Re: the connection of two continuous elements

And no offense, I especially want to know when you are on this forum to answer the questions every day generally. I eagerly expect to communicate with you as you are online. Because I have a time lag of 16 hours with you. Every time it takes me a whole day to solve a question. And it is far from eno...

the connection of two continuous elements

There are two continuous reinforced concrete elements, each length is L . Is the longitudinal bar in the section two disconnected bars length of L. or a integral bar length of 2L ? In other words, is the bar disconnected in two different elements ? If it is not a integral bar ,how to connect them lik...

About the use of zero length element

I want to use zero length element simulates the hinge support, but when it runs at eigen analysis . it shows: ArpackSolver::Error with _saupd info = -9 Starting vector is zero. WARNING DirectIntegrationAnalysis::eigen() - EigenSOE failed in solve() missing function argument at _@_ in expression "pow...

Re: HOW to add concentrated force in the middle of the beam?

I use the first way, and thank you. But there is another problem. As you know, the displacement control needs some defined node to control, but there is no defined node in the middle of beam where I just want to control the displacement. How to solve this? ------------------------------------...

HOW to add concentrated force in the middle of the beam?

My model is a simply supported beam of reinforced concrete. I modeled it as a nonlinear element. I need to add a concentrated force in the middle of the element. But I didn't found the way. Could you help me to figure this out?

another version about the beam

I have written another about the simply supported beam of concrete. This time I didn't simlify the beam. Here is my codes, which don't work normally either. I need to explain that the beam has two different sections and I need to add a concentrated force in the middle. But after applying gravity, th...

simly supported concrete beam

I want to simulate a simply supported beam of reinforced concrete. Here is my code. I have simplified the beam into two symmetrical structures. But during the applying of gravity, the codes don't run normally. Could you give me some advice? # SET UP --------------------------------------------------...

Problem about block 2D

I am simulating simply supported beam, in 2D,2dofs, I need to add reinforcement into the block2D, here is my idea. However, it doesn't work out. What should I suppose to do ? block2D $nx1 $ny1 1 1 $Quad $eleArgs { 1 0 0 2 3.7 0 3 0 0.042 4 3.7 0.042 } block2D $nx $ny 3 1 $Quad $eleArgs { 3 0 0.042 4...

Your node coordinates are weird. I donnot think your frame nodes are right.

How to simulate one concrete beam ?

I want to simulate a simply supported beam made of reinforced concrete, which can compare with my experiment. I have read “the Simply supported beam modeled with two dimensional solid elements”. It is very close to my model. But, my model is not homegeneous, and it needs to add reinforcement and sti...
