Re: Plane Stress Material in Navigator

Hi,

You can use quad elements for timber walls, two node link and zero length elements for connections. There are many publications, I just followed what they have done.

Dear Frank, I have sorted it out. The problem is the available links to install dependencies are not compatible with all windows machines. Hi Vesna, I want to apply a cyclic loading to my numerical model which has 147.5 mm maximum displacement on the top of the structure. Using EN 12512 loading protocol, how I can define it opensees? I made a cyclic loading curve for 0,25Vy, 0.50Vy, 1Vy, 2Vy and 4Vy as the following # cycle number # Ma...

Re: shear wall element

Hi,

Instead of shell elements, you can use 4 Node Quad Elements with plane strain or plane stress material for shear wall design in OpenSees. It works for 2d 2dof models.

Regards.

I do not think that you could find exactly what you are looking for but you can combine 2-3 posts to find out what you are looking for.

This is how this platform works, basically.

Hi, Try to download it again and install. Make sure that you are following exactly the same procedure on the webpage. http://openseesnavigator.berkeley.edu/downloads/standalone-win/ your error might be related to the correct version of the MCR. You can find the one you need below; Important: You can...

Re: Material model for Shell element

http://opensees.berkeley.edu/wiki/index.php/Shell_Element This explains very well what material you need to define to use shell elements in OpenSees. Basically, you do not need to define a material. If you are using shell elements in your model you need to define a section either PlateFiberSection, ...

Re: Problem executing OpenSees Navigator

Hi, Please follow instructions in the link (http://openseesnavigator.berkeley.edu/downloads/standalone-win/) and try to set up again. Before doing that, uninstall all related programs that installed on your computer. And make sure you install appropriate version of the Matlab Compiler Runtime (MCR)....
