Building problem

Dear Silvia, I have built the opensees version 2.1.0 from the stable source code using Visual studio 2005. I have got 1324 warnings and no errors. I have run an example problem using this binary and compare the resulsts with the published opensees binary. Both these results compare exactly with earc...

warning: Pressure Dependent Multiyield material

Hi, I am using pressureDependentMultiYield material to model soil in OpenSees Version 2.1.0. In this model I am updating the material property. The model is running perfectly. However it is showing the following warning message: PressureDependentMultiYield::setParameter() updateMaterialstage Pressur...

Thanks Avytin. I am using nDmaterial elastic where only modulus of elasticity E and poisson's Ratio have to be specified. In that case what should I do?

OpenSees Version 2.1 and Version 2.0

Hi,
I have analyzed soil-pile interaction problem using OpenSees Version 2.0.0. When I run the same tcl file in Version 2.1.0 I have got different results.

Can anybody tell me what are the basic differences in these two versions?

Thanks,

OpenSees Version 2.1:mass density of soil

Hi, I am analyzing soil-pile interaction problem in OpenSees 2.1.0. In this version mass density definition in quad element is excluded. Therefore, I have to define nodal mass using -mass command to consider soil mass during dynamic analysis. However, it is cumbersome to define nodal mass since I ha...

Problem in Pore Presure Ratio

Hi, I am performing dynamic analysis of a rectangular (150 m long and 100 m height) soil strata using PressureDependentMultiYield material with “fluidsolidporus” material. I have applied equalDOF constraints at the two lateral boundaries. Dynamic analysis is performed (under undrained condition) aft...

Interesting Problem: Changing Boundary condition

Hi, I am doing a gravity analysis of a sigle bay single story frame where the support two nodes (1 and 4) are fixed in all directions. fix 1 1 1 1 1 1 0 fix 2 0 0 1 1 1 0 fix 3 0 0 1 1 1 0 fix 4 1 1 1 1 1 0 After the gravity analysis I want to remove the vertical boundary condition at node 4 by remo...

Simplified model

Thanks Silvia.
Let me simplify the model.
I have a simple 2DOF system and I want to dyamic analysis of this system by applying two different cyclic force along two DOF. What are the commnads in OpenSees for such simple solution?

Thanks in advance.

Dynamic analysis using time varying force

Hi,
Can anybody tell me how to do dynamic analysis in Opensees by applying multisupport excitation in terms of force (not acceleration, vel or dis).

Thanks in advabce,
