Hi everyone
I'm modeling a CFRP-steel hybrid reinforced concrete column.
I wonder if I can roughly simulate the CFRP bar bond slip by reducing its tensile strength?
If it is possible, is there any paper support it?
Thank you!

It is ok to use T-Beam to simulate the effect of slab?
Hello everyone, I'm doing a pushover analysis on a 2d rc frame. I want to take the slab stiffness into consideration. So, instead of using the methods found in the forum, like using a truss element, I simply created a T-beam fiber section. The width of the flange was 12 times the thickness of the sl...

Re: Final Displacement was larger than value I set
It should be 100 mm at the control node that you use for pushover. At which node are you getting 150 mm and which node is the one that you apply the displacements in pushover? I applied 100 mm at the control node for pushover, and the control node was at the top of the structure. In the end, the re...

Final Displacement was larger than value I set
Hi everyone, I'm doing a pushover analysis on a 2d RC frame, but I encoutered a problem. That is the displacement of the pushover was larger than the value I set. Say, I wanted to push 100 mm, but the final result was 150 mm. I've look up on the internet, they said is because the nonlinear of the st...

Why the nodal displacement at the same floor different?
Hello everyone. I was doing a pushover on a 3 story 2 bay 2D RC frame with nonlinearBeamCoumn element, every beam/column was divided into 6 element. Pushover Direction was from left to right, and columns from left to right was numbered as column 1,2, and 3. I output the displacement of each column i...

Axial force of column section is very small. Why?
Hello everyone, I'm trying to do a pushover analysis on a 3 storty 3 bay 2D RC frame with fiber section. The results of pushover is very strange. 1. The axial force in the bottom section of the column is very small only 12726.2N, but the nodal axial force at the same position is 235068N 2. I got lar...

Add more elements in the model but get smaller results. Why?
I built a 2D RC frame. At first, the model was built 2 nodes per beam/column (1 element for 1 beam/column). The model runs well and everything was fine. Then I added more elements in the model (1 beam/column divided into 5 element) because I want to define different sections in the beam/column. The ...

Time history analysis got same result with different model
I built a 2d 3 story 2 bay RC frame. Then I run the time history analysis. The model runs good, everything seems fine. But then, I reinforced the structure with extra FRP materials and run the time history analysis, I got the same results as the un-reinforced model. At first I thought was the gravit...

Re: Question on using rigid diaphragm for a RC frame with fiber sections
Dear Zhi
I meet the same problem as you do. The use of equalDOF would lead to inrealistic axial force and moment in beam when using the nonlinear element (here is the ref: https://opensees.berkeley.edu/wiki/inde ... nsequences). I also wonder have you manage to solve question 1?

Problem related to equalDOF in 2D structure model
For a 3 storied 1 bay 2d structure model, I simulated the effect of Diaphragms by using the command equalDOF. But it arouse the problem of inrealisitic axial force and moment in the beam. So I'm wondering how should I do to simulate the the effect of Diaphragm, withou using the command equalDOF. Tha...
