Re: Built-up sections
Thanks for the reply, professor. Meanwhile, I had been doing some searching on my own. I think I found out how to do it. I believe one has to divide the individual components as rectangles and use 'patch quad' with the coordinates of the corners defined relative to the centroid. I hope that this is ...

Built-up sections
Hey guys,
Is it possible to model built-up fiber sections in OpenSees? For example, by putting two channel sections back-to-back. The relative positions of the individual components also affect the geometric properties like the area moment of inertia in such a section.
Thanks,
Adarsh

Holding states and performing an eigen analysis
Hello guys, I hope you have a wonderful day. Let's say you are performing a dynamic analysis and {t1,t2,...,tn} are the various time steps. Further, let's also assume that the system matrices are time-dependent. Is it possible to hold the domain state at each time step and perform an eigenanalysis? ...

Re: Problem in running eigen analysis with thermal loads
Thank you very much, Prof. Scott, for pointing that out. That was a rookie mistake from my side .
I just saw your video with Silvia. That was quite compelling.
I used the -fullGenLapack, and everything worked like a charm. Thanks again.

Problem in running eigen analysis with thermal loads
Hi guys, I am a tyro with OpenSees and was trying to run an eigenanalysis with the Example 1 problem given for thermal analysis (simply supported beam). Unfortunately, some error is coming while running the code. Can anyone kindly help me with this? Is it something that I am doing wrong or is it som...
