I want to make comparison hysteresis loop of simplified model (bilinear model) with experimental results.
I want toknow how to input cyclic increasing displacement. I hope opensees expert can help me .

I am beginner in opensees. I want to know how to apply cyclic increasing displacement history. for example 3 cycle of displacement:
0, 1.0, 0, -1.0, 0; 0, 2.0, 0, -2.0, 0; 0, 4.0, 0, -4.0, 0. Any help is highly appreciated.

I am new beginner in opensees. I would like to simulate steel damper as zero length element with bilinear force-deformation relationship ( i.e. elastic stiffness, yield force or yield displacement, and post yield stiffness ratio). The input of loading is cyclic increasing displacement. My aim is to obtain hysteresis loop of the damper. I read from opensees getting started about integrator displacement control under cyclic load, and i am confused why we still need to define the load value? In fact, We can get the load or reaction for any given displacement. Would you to guide me to solve this problem?

I am beginner in opensees and need your help with regard to modeling steel damper as bilinear or tri linear force-deformation relation.
My aim to model steel damper in order to make the comparison of hysteretic curve which obtained from experimental test with simplified model. In bilinear model the input data is elastic stiffness, yield force or yield displacement and post yield stiffness ratio , while the loads is cyclic increasing displacement. for example 0 1 0 -1 0 2 0 -2 0 4 0 -4 ....so on. After that I want to calculate the area under hysteretic curve as hysteretic energy. What type element should be used if the material data is not stress-strain but force-displacement. your help is highly appreciated.
