Hi,

Can we create a new integrator method or new algorithm in opensees?

tnx.

Hi, I think opensees cannot consider the effect of large deflection for trusses. For a famous example (simple one-dimensional problem) that is a bar and has been mentioned in many references (e.g.Nonlinear Finite Element Analysis, Crisfield), we cannot see the actual equilibrium path (Load-deflectio...

Hi,
Why the Opensees designer team doesn't add the distributed mass matrix? it seems this is a simple work. Does it have any conflict with the other parts of the software?

Hi

you can use the new element and material suggested by Wallace. note that it is limited for 2D systems.

OpenSees capability

Hi all, I have two questions; would you please help me? 1.Do formulations of nonlinear beam-column elements in OpenSees have the capability of describing the axial force-bending moment shear force interaction at the monitoring cross section of the beam-column element? 2.Do most of the lumped plastic...

Dear silvia,

Many users would really like to attend in "OpenSees User Workshop", but because of long distance cannot attend.
How can we be informed the materials that are discussed in workshop?
I suggest materials be classified and written to access.

Thank you.

Hi,

The Drucker-Prager criterion is the generalization of the Von Mises criterion.
The influence of a hydrostatic stress component of failure is defined by an additional term in the Von Mises expression.

Sorry, I made a mistake to enter the results in the forum. I edited my previous comment. Also I added the time steps that silvia requested below: dt of analysis = 0.0025 , disp.=0.29882 m dt of analysis = 0.0075 , disp.=0.29832 m dt of analysis = 0.0175 , disp.=0.29686 m the results show that there ...

Dear all, I did the nonlinear dynamic analyses for a big structure which has 841 nodes and 3200 elements. I used the Imperial Valley Earthquake that its time step is 0.01 sec with duration of 20 sec. I assumed 3 different states with maximum duration of ground-motion analysis of 20 sec: a) dt of ana...

i use the "OpenSees Command Language Manual, printed on 1 July, 2007" with pdf format. this file has 451 pages.
can you find it?
