Re: pinching4 material misfunctioning

I am sending you the main file and source files used in the analysis. I think it will be hard to read, I can send you the tcl files, and the resulting graphs, if possible. Thank you very much for your kind interest. ------ MAIN FILE -------------------------------------------------------------------...

Re: pinching4 material misfunctioning

There are two integrators defined, the same as in the example. in the main part,( http://opensees.berkeley.edu/OpenSees/manuals/usermanual/1178.htm ) a load control integrator is defined. And in the cyclic loading part, ( http://opensees.berkeley.edu/OpenSees/manuals/usermanual/1180.htm ) the integr...

"system ProfileSPD constraints Plain integrator LoadControl 0 1 0 0 test NormDispIncr 1e-8 150 algorithm Newton numberer RCM analysis Static" above are the details of my solver system. Cyclic loading procedure takes the peak points of displacements as input and performs static analysis, (using the p...

pinching4 material misfunctioning

Hello everyone... I am modeling a beam to column connection and defining the moment-rotation characteristics of beams, columns and connection using 2D rotational springs made of pinching4 material; 4 performance points. Loading is cyclic. the joint spring has 4 phases, pre-yield (increasing strength...

Re: defining moment rotation relation for members

thank you for the reply and the examples Vesna. I want to define using Hysteretic material, to be able to control the total rotation mechanism of the beams and columns. I assign the predefined Hysteretic material to hinge sections of Beamwithhinges element. Does this change the situation since if I ...

Re: defining moment rotation relation for members

I studied the manual and want to ask a question, the relation to be defined in section is Moment-Curvature, not Moment-Rotation, isn't it? (I am trying to add Mz relation to my section)

defining moment rotation relation for members

Hello, Is there anyway to define the moment-rotation relationship for beams and columns. I tried placing 2D rotational springs at the connection points of beams and columns with the joint and assigning the hysteretic material but the damage coefficients complicates the definition and the result is n...

beamwithhinges element recorder

Hello everyone, I am trying to find out the moment curvature results of a beam element after a cyclic analysis but the results file is a bit confusing. More clearly, when I set the recorder as "recorder Element -file ele3Rotat.txt -ele 3 plasticRotation", it works and gives a file with 3 columns of ...

Re: "patch rect" command

Vesna and Felipe, thank you for your help. In fact, I was in a kind of hurry and to be sure, I changed all my section definitions to "patch quad" after I read the first comment but anyway, it confirmed your last comments about the "patch rect" command.

"patch rect" command

does 'patch rect' command works in the code or is it omitted, since manual or any other help file do not mention about it ?

no torsion detected

Hi everyone, When I run an analysis on a 3D model, I get a warning such as 'no torsion detected in sections, continuing with element torsional stiffness GJ/L". Anyhow, finishes the analysis with seemingly good results. Can anyone help me about the reason and/or meaning of the warning about torsion? ...
