Masonry infill Model as strut

Post by romaniitd » Thu Sep 03, 2015 9:47 am

Hi friends,
I am modelling masonry infill wall as a strut using truss element. I want to keep pin connection at end of the struts. Now I a have doubt that truss element will take only axial forces so, Is it required to put pin connection at the strut joints?

a truss element will only take axial forces by definition!! .. so no you do not need an extra node.
