Interaction between OpenSees and Matlab

Hello!
I would kindly ask if exists a procedure to call a single material from matlab (for instance the pinching4 material) (i.e., without implementing the whole pinching4 hysteretic behavior in matlab). This would be particularly interesting when performing a calibration of the pinching4 parameters based on the results of an experimental tests. In fact, the calling of Opensees will significantly slower the procedure.
