Hi,

I am trying to validate the bridge-pier model for centrifuge experiments, I need a suggestion on choosing the element for modeling flexible column and rigid column in the soil-foundation-structure system. May I know, for which case elasticbeamcolumn element is applicable?

Thank you.

You can use the elastic beamcolumn only for linear elastic response, therefore you can use it with a large modulus of elasticity or moment of inertia for your rigid option
