3D truss model with beam-column element

Post by amirmahmoodi » Sun Jan 06, 2019 4:39 am

I have a question about the 3D model of beam-column elements,
When you wanted to define the geomTransf in OpenSees for diagonal members which are out of the plane, how did you define a vector that is in a plane parallel to the x-z plane of the local-coordinate system (I mean this for example: geomTransf Linear $transfTag $vecxzX $vecxzY $vecxzZ)
I would highly appreciate it if you give me guidance and suggest some link for 3-D modeling of the transmission tower.
