SHELLMITC4 in 2D

As you all know SHELLMITC4 is only defined in 3D modeling, yet in case of my project I need to model a 2D frame combined with SHELLMITC. Is there any way to implement these two different modeling types (2D and 3D) in one model and then Connect it together?
