how to catch the story shears of frame-shear structure

Post by LuShaoshao » Wed Jun 27, 2018 12:47 am

hi.
my model is a 3d RC frame-shear structure, and i'm doing time history analysis, but i don't know how to catch the story shears.
i know that sum the nodes reaction of the base equals to the base shear, but it seems that cannot do it at the upper floors??
or i should sum the shear force of all columns and walls of each floor to get the story shear??
thanks very much if someone can help :)

Yes you can find it as the sum of the shear forces of the elements of a story
