Modeling SCB frames using beam-column elements Fatigue mater

Post by nilz » Fri Apr 27, 2018 5:15 am

Dear Vesna,

In your Opensees code for SCBF based on the presentation by the name of "Modeling SCB frames using beam-column elements," you used Fatigue material for braces the same as bellow :

uniaxialMaterial Fatigue $matTag $tag <-E0 $E0> <-m $m> <-min $min> <-max $max>

uniaxialMaterial Fatigue $matID_fatBrace $matID_Brace -E0 $E0 -m $m -min -1.0 -max 0.04

My question is that how are the max and min strain parameters ( 0.04 and -1) calculated?

Your kindness is highly appreciated. I look forward to hearing from you.
Best regards.
