Soil-Pile Interaction

Dear all,

I want to model a pile in a soil medium. In this regard, I am using soil elements to capture pore water pressure distribution for the soil part. For the interaction between the soil and pile (my pile is surrounded by soil) in a 2D modeling, shall I use the p-y curves for nonlinear springs with zero length elements in just one side to capture the interaction?
