Post by aydindaei » Sun Jul 30, 2017 12:03 am

hi,
I used 10 dispBeamColumn element in columns of a RC building that two of these elements are rigid at both ends. Now I want to extract story shears but I don't know which element I should choose to get globalforce of it.Is it true to get globalforce at rigid elements or not?

Generally, the rigid element represents the joint, therefore you should record the forces at the elements closest to the rigid end elements.
