Sensitivity Example 1

Post by brag006 » Thu Oct 24, 2013 3:48 pm

Example1 in the sensitivity analysis does not appear to be working properly. It fails due to missing elements. I made adjustments to the nodes as follows:

node 24 272.9 24.432 -mass 0 0
node 25 272.9 26.012 -mass 0 0
node 26 272.9 27.593 -mass 0 0
node 27 272.9 29.166 -mass 0 0
node 28 272.9 29.497 -mass 0 0
node 29 272.9 29.828 -mass 0 0

and the elements as follows:

element quadWithSensitivity 1 58 57 28 29 6.0957 "PlaneStrain" 1 0 2.0 0 $g
element quadWithSensitivity 2 57 56 27 28 6.0957 "PlaneStrain" 1 0 2.0 0 $g
element quadWithSensitivity 3 56 55 26 27 6.0957 "PlaneStrain" 2 0 2.0 0 $g
element quadWithSensitivity 4 55 54 25 26 6.0957 "PlaneStrain" 2 0 2.0 0 $g
element quadWithSensitivity 5 54 53 24 25 6.0957 "PlaneStrain" 2 0 2.0 0 $g
element quadWithSensitivity 6 53 52 23 24 6.0957 "PlaneStrain" 2 0 2.0 0 $g
element quadWithSensitivity 7 52 51 22 23 6.0957 "PlaneStrain" 3 0 2.0 0 $g
element quadWithSensitivity 8 51 50 21 22 6.0957 "PlaneStrain" 3 0 2.0 0 $g
element quadWithSensitivity 9 50 49 20 21 6.0957 "PlaneStrain" 4 0 2.0 0 $g
element quadWithSensitivity 10 49 48 19 20 6.0957 "PlaneStrain" 4 0 2.0 0 $g
element quadWithSensitivity 11 48 47 18 19 6.0957 "PlaneStrain" 4 0 2.0 0 $g
element quadWithSensitivity 12 47 46 17 18 6.0957 "PlaneStrain" 4 0 2.0 0 $g
element quadWithSensitivity 13 46 45 16 17 6.0957 "PlaneStrain" 4 0 2.0 0 $g
element quadWithSensitivity 14 45 44 15 16 6.0957 "PlaneStrain" 4 0 2.0 0 $g

I used an elcentro motion and the analysis seems to be working fine. Please note the zip file which contains the input files doesn't appear to be working.

Anyone else played around with the sensitivity examples?

Thanks for catching this. Can you post the link to the example so that I can be sure to update the right one?

The zip files on this link are not working for me.

http://opensees.berkeley.edu/wiki/index ... n_examples:

and these input files shown here have some errors:

I did find the correct one in other places.

Cheers
